Avengers Assemble!
It’s been almost a week since The Avengers was released (in Australia. Sucks to be you, America!) and I still can’t believe what I saw in the cinema. In the span of 4 days, I have watched the movie twice and those 4.5 hours are just pure movie magic.
I may have invested a bit more in the movie and the materials than other people. I read a lot of comic book during the last 5-10 years, and I...

Year End Review Part 2
As a follow up to my year-end review, and in anticipation of the upcoming Oscar, I’ll list my picks on who should’ve got the nominations golden trophy for the year. Bolded names indicate my pick on who should’ve won.
Best Actor:
Ryan Gosling - Drive, The Ides of March
Michael Shannon - Take Shelter
Joseph Gordon-Levitt - 50/50
Michael Fassbender - Shame, X-Men: First Class
John Hawkes - Martha...
Year End Review
Alright I know it’s already Feb but I just need to post my yearly Award season. My own personal Oscars, if you may. So here you go:
5. Beginners
I was genuinely surprise when I finished watching this movie. I thought this would be your average sweet rom-com, but boy I couldn’t be more wrong. Here’s a movie that examines relationship, fear, and tragedy without losing its charm. Ewan McGregor...

Thoughts on The Dark Knight Rises Prologue
Six minutes is hardly enough for a movie to make a big impression on people’s mind. Fortunately, Christopher Nolan is a God. He showed 6 minutes of The Dark Knight Rises and it already made such an impression on me.
Remember that big set piece with the bank robbery on the first scene of Dark Knight? Remember how awesome it was? The first six minute of Dark Knight Rises is basically that,...

The boy who lived
So here’s some quick thoughts on Deathly Hallows part 2:
It’s a proper sending off to one of the most exciting work of fiction in the 21st century.
It’s action packed and goes full throttle from the first minute.
Visually impeccable, well build sets and great camera work.
However, it is not the best installment of the series. That award should be given to Prisoner of Azkaban or Goblet of...

Year End Review
Sorry for being late. Life seems to get in the way of me catching up with the remaining nomination-friendly films in the last months of 2010. So, here we go. Spoilers galore below.
Inception There’s not much movie that can stand the test of a pre-release hype. I remember when the trailer of Superman Returns and Phantom Menace came out. The anticipation and the speculation from the fans are...

The End
I am warning you, this isn’t a spoiler free post. Anyone who hasn’t seen the finale should stay away from this post.
Okay.
Let’s get one thing out of the way; there is no way that we were going to get the full answer on what actually happened on Lost. Never. Not a chance. The finale has left many questions unexplained, which sparks numerous unfavorable reactions from fans around the world. ...

Snubs of the Year
The Oscars is only a week away and discussion has been going on forever in various media about the possible winners. Now, I’m not gonna dig deep into the favorites and who’s likely gonna win, but i’d rather talk about who they left behind in the nominations. So, here it goes.
Actors
Sam Rockwell in Moon
Sharlto Copley in District 9
Woody Harrelson in Zombieland

Golden Flops?
I’ve been thinking about this since yesterday. I know it seems unimportant, but I need to get this off my chest. These are my problems with this year’s Golden Globes, aside from the red carpet rain, and seriously awkward camera blocking throughout the show.
ps: Ricky Gervais saved the day.
* Avatar is a good movie. But it’s not THAT good. When you put them in the same bracket...
